One of the top 3 reasons businesses decide to get an app is to “grow mobile” which includes growing their bottom with a nice increase in sales. There are many ways that a business can use an app to increase income. Below is a list of the easiest and most common ways you can use an app to increase sales.

VIP App User Promotions

Reward your App Users with specials and promotions that are offered and redeemed right through the app while they are in the store. No need to for your customers to remember to cut and carry coupons and no one will feel disappointed ever for “forgetting a coupon at home.” Anyone can download the app in your store and feel have access to the special or promotion.

Flash Sales

Slow sales day? Increase traffic and sales by sending out a Push Notification offering a give away, promotion or discount for anyone who comes in that day or shops during certain hours.

Bring a Friend

Increase traffic by encouraging customers to bring a friend. Create a Bring a Friend Promotion in the promotions section of your mobile app.  When they bring a friend they receive a free gift or a discount and their friend receives the first -time app user discount also conveniently located in the specials section of your mobile app!

Links to all of your on-line stores

In addition to your brick and mortar store or your website do you also sell through eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Posh, Bonanza or other on-line stores? You can link each of your on-line stores to your app and your customers can shop all of your on-line locations, view all of your products and do it all from your mobile app!

Create an In-App Store

Maybe you have a website where you sell products, services and memberships or, maybe you don’t. If you don’t, you can create an in-app store and all of your products, services and membership sign-ups can take place through your in-app store. Your app is linked up to PayPal, Woo Commerce or Square and customers can shop and pay for products right through your app.

Already have an e-commerce website where customers can make purchases? Great! Be sure its linked to your app so App Users can shop your website via your mobile app. Next, consider adding an in-app store for unique, fun or extra special items. This makes your app feel like an exclusive VIP club and only App Users know about these extra special or extra fun products only available through your mobile app.

Why don’t you see “charge for your app?” on this list? Honestly, if you’re creating an app specifically for your business we don’t recommend charging for your app. Even if your app is $.99 people will hesitate before spending their $.99. If you’re using your app to build your business, you don’t want any hesitation for getting downloads. Its best to offer your app for free and then make products, services, memberships and subscriptions available for sale from within the app itself. Use your app to build your credibility and reputation and to build relationships. If folks don’t know who you are they are less likely to pay for your app.
