Juggling customers, cash flow and vendors while simultaneously managing social media, marketing and sales doesn’t leave a whole lot of extra time for coaching soccer, making dinner or sleeping past 7 am. Can mobile apps really add more time to your life?

Entrepreneurs choose this lifestyle largely for the freedom. Unfortunately, business owners and solopreneurs experience very little freedom because of the large work load in running a successful business. It may be hard to believe that a little thing such as a mobile app can really make a big difference in the efficiency of a business.

Here are 5 ways mobile apps can save you time and help you make more money in your small business:

Create an in-app store with e-Commerce

Customers are shopping more and more through mobile apps and less and less via websites. With in-app e-commerce customers can shop through your mobile app any time day or night and regardless of wifi!

Quickly and easily photograph items you have for sale and post on Instagram.

Customers can easily see what you have in-store by scrolling through your Instagram feed on your mobile app. To complete a transaction or express an interest in something they like, you can create a Form on your app that they fill out stating their buying interest in an item. You can even have the form include a spot for their CC so you can literally run the transaction when you arrive at the work the next morning! Snapping a photo and posting to Instagram literally takes seconds so its a GREAT way to quickly showcase all of your products to the world. This is especially convenient if you’re an antiques dealer, consignment store or re-sale boutique which carries one-of items.

Link your mobile app to all of the places on-line where you sell your products such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify and your website.

Customers can easily see everything you have for sale all in one place… on your mobile app! Instead of directing your customers to your e-Bay store, your Amazon store and your Etsy store, all of these on-line stores are linked to your mobile app. They can shop all of your merchandise in all of your stores all from one location without having to type in a bunch of different web-addresses.

Create customized forms on your app.

Customers can easily ask you questions, send photos and provide all of the necessary information needed for a price quote or find the exact product they are looking for. Forms tremendously cut down time spent on the phones answering questions. Forms also allow you to get the information you need, do your research and call a customer back with a proper price quote.

Post store hours and location on your app.

How many calls do you get with these simple question, “What time do you open on Saturday?” “Are you open on Sundays?” “Where exactly are you located?” Adding two buttons called “Store Hours” and “Maps” gives your customers the ease and convenience of answering their own questions and frees up you and your staff’s time from these important but mundane calls. With the “Maps” button your customers can see your exact location on a map and they can even get turn by turn GPS directions to your door step!
